NOW OUI HAVE FANS IN FRANCE

Need A Healthy Dessert? Meet The Protein Bakery.

Everyone’s favorite part of dinner is dessert. Or is that just me?

It is a necessary part of every meal, and in France especially, having dessert often is totally normal — even if it’s just some fruit or a yogurt to finish off the meal and feed a craving for something sweet. Sometimes dessert can include protein powder, like it does in sweets from The Protein Bakery. They’re a US bakery that makes a wide array of cookies, brownies, blondies and minis that are ridiculously delicious and nutritionally balanced.

I love a sweet snack and unless I make something from scratch myself, the chewy traditional flavors I’m used to from home just don’t exist in France. Sure, you can find Oreos and other highly processed cookies, but I try to steer clear of those. So on my quest for healthy desserts to add to my lineup, I discovered The Protein Bakery's freshly baked goodies.

And after my first bite, I knew I had to share The Protein Bakery with all of you.

So let’s get to it…

The Protein Bakery’s treats are:

Packed full of muscle-building whey protein concentrate, Kosher, gluten-free, trans fat-free, preservative-free and made from all-natural ingredients. Made fresh by hand in small batches. C'est si bon!

SO WHAT’S THE PROTEIN BAKERY ALL ABOUT?

The Protein Bakery opened its doors in 1999 and they’ve been perfecting their protein-packed, fresh-baked goods ever since. Their motto is “Do it better” and they focus on balance — providing treats with health benefits that still have that gourmet taste.

Mission accomplished!

The best part is that their products use whey protein concentrate which helps you feel fuller longer and prevents your blood sugar from spiking. So if you feel like a sweet treat, you may want to consider something from The Protein Bakery instead of a cookie laden with preservatives and high fructose corn syrup. Kept in a cool, dry place, the products last for two weeks but pop them in the freezer for up to three months for a cool treat. This was my preferred way to eat them!

I fell in love with the Black & White Brownie. Chewy, but not overly so, with a rich taste and filled with chocolate chips. Oprah says they’re “genuinely delicious” and I have to agree. Their snacks are on the healthier end of the dessert spectrum, so you can enjoy without guilt!

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE PROTEIN BAKERY:

The products taste amazing. Really amazing. Not dry or crumbly or with a weird aftertaste.

You feel good about eating this bakery’s products because there’s no garbage in the ingredient list. Great selection with flavors for every palate.

OTHER POINTS TO CONSIDER:

Shelf life is about two and half weeks BUT you can freeze the products for up to 3 months and they taste excellent this way.

This is a high-quality product and not something made in bulk. They're serious about "the bakery" part. Handmade and baked in small batches.

Life is about balance for me so not a huge concern that these snacks are meant to be a healthy indulgence.
